2013 highlights

Focus on strategic initiatives

  • Service outperformed Equipment: demand for maintenance services was stable overall, while the sluggish pace of global economic growth and customers’ hesitancy to make investment decisions impacted demand for new equipment.
  • Konecranes clarified and simplified its strategic focus areas. The Group’s key strategic initiatives are Industrial Internet, Emerging Markets Offering, and oneKONECRANES.
  • Development of the TRUCONNECT® Remote Services offering continued on schedule.
  • The Automated RTG (ARTG) system for container handling use was introduced. The ARTG enables port operators to use their existing yard infrastructure as they switch to automated RTG operation.
